Account
A free account is needed to use NoteStand, even on a single device with a local space. It also gives you access to shared spaces: the ones you join by invitation, and the ones you manage. The content of your local spaces stays on the device: the account does not send it online.
Offline, NoteStand never locks you out: if the device already holds your spaces, you keep playing, and you are asked to sign in when the network comes back.
Creating an account
- The first time you open the app, the “Create your NoteStand account” screen shows, on the “I’m creating an account” tab.
- Enter your first name and last name: they are visible to the other members of your shared spaces, so they can recognise you.
- Type your e-mail and a password: at least 8 characters, with at least 3 of lowercase, uppercase, digit and symbol. Confirm the password.
- Tap “Create account”.
- A verification code is sent to you by e-mail (valid for 15 minutes). Type it, then tap “Verify”. Didn’t get it? Tap “Resend code”, and check your spam folder.
Creating the account needs an internet connection.
If you were invited to a space, create your account with the e-mail address that received the invitation (see Joining a space by invitation).
Information emails
When you create your account, the box “I don’t want to receive NoteStand’s offers and news by email” lets you refuse them. You can change your mind at any time: “Account” menu › “Settings” › “My account” › “Receive NoteStand’s offers and news by email”. Emails about your account and your spaces (verification code, invitations, concerts) are sent whatever this choice.
Signing in
On the account screen, tap “I already have an account”, then type your e-mail and password. Your shared spaces appear on the Spaces page, under “In your account”.
Forgotten password
- On the sign-in screen, tap “Forgot password?”.
- Type your e-mail, then tap “Send code”.
- Type the code you received (valid for 15 minutes) and your new password, then tap “Reset”.
Signing out
“Account” menu › “Sign out”. The account screen shows again. Your local spaces stay on the device; your shared spaces will be there next time you sign in.
Changing your name
“Account” menu › “Settings” › “My account” › “Edit my name”.
Your settings across devices
When you are signed in, your preferences (audio, display, language…) are those of your account and apply to all your devices. To set up a device on its own, turn on “Use this device’s settings” at the top of the “Settings” page. Screen calibration always stays specific to each device.
Deleting your account
- “Account” menu › “Settings” › “My account”.
- In the “Danger zone”, tap “Delete my account”.
- Type your e-mail address to confirm, then tap “Delete permanently”.
Deletion is permanent:
- your account is deleted;
- shared spaces where you are the only member are deleted with all their content, and their subscription is cancelled;
- if you are the only manager of a space that has other members, NoteStand first asks you to appoint another manager (see Managing members) or to delete that space.
Your local spaces are not affected: they stay on your device. NoteStand’s privacy policy describes how your data is handled.
